A £35.00 deposit per person will secure your place with the balance to be paid 14 days before your chosen date.
We will meet in the main Portland Bill car park at 5.30pm and photograph some of the disused quarry workings on the shore before shooting the sunset over Pulpit Rock. As the light fades we will concentrate on Portland Bill Lighthouse and hopefully a clear night will also enable some night sky astro photography.
This workshop is limited to a maximum of 5 participants (a minimum of 3 at the £69 rate), if you would prefer it can also be run on an individual 1 to 1 basis for £99.00. A reasonable level of fitness is required as there is some scrambling over rocks but the beauty of this workshop is that all of the locations are just a short walk from the car park.
During the evening we will cover the following topics to improve your images and the enjoyment of your photography – composition, how to read light, the relationship between shutter speed, aperture and ISO, hyper focal distance, depth of field, shooting RAW, the histogram and many more.
Ideally you will have a digital SLR or compact system/mirrorless camera with a wide angle and a standard to medium telephoto zoom (or prime) lenses, plus a tripod. Filters including a polariser would be useful and solid neutral density (ND) filters are essential if you wish to capture long exposures. If you have a FujiFilm X series compact system camera I can show you the many less obvious features that make this a great landscape photography tool.
All tuition and advice during the evening is included.
What isn’t included;
Travel to and from Dorset, car parking at Portland Bill, personal travel insurance, protective clothing, food and drink (there is an excellent Fish and Chip restaurant and also a Co-operative Food shop just 5 minutes drive away), camera equipment inc. tripods.
