Northumberland Coast 3 Day Landscape Photography Workshop
A three day landscape photography workshop on the Northumberland Coast – £479.00.
Wednesday 14th to Friday 16th March 2018
To book please enter your choice of date plus the number of participants and click the add to basket button.
A £100.00 deposit per person will secure your place with the balance to be paid 14 days before your chosen date.
We will visit locations including the stunning Bamburgh Castle, Alnwick Castle, the remains of Dunstanburgh Castle, Lindisfarne Castle on Holy Island, the harbours of Seahouses, Craster and Beadnell, Duddo Stone Circle and explore the unusual geology of Spittal Beach at Berwick-upon-Tweed.
Please note that accommodation is not included as I have found many people like to make their own arrangements at a favourite hotel or B+B or even have their own camper or motorhome. If you wish I can recommend places to stay.
This will be an intensive 3 day workshop course with dawn and dusk shoots plus other locations during each day and a couple of night shoots. The workshop can be run on an individual 1 to 1 basis or as a small group of up to 3 participants if you have friends or relatives who would like to join you. The small size of the group allows me to provide personalised tuition and advice based on your experience and requirements and also to maximise the potential of each location without overcrowding.
In addition to visiting stunning locations we will cover the following topics to improve your images and the enjoyment of your photography – composition, how to read light, the relationship between shutter speed, aperture and ISO, hyper focal distance, depth of field, shooting RAW, the histogram and many more.
Final locations will be selected according to the prevailing weather conditions each day.
There will be good opportunities for night sky astro photography, star trails etc. as Northumberland has superb dark skies (weather permitting!)
A reasonable level of fitness is required as a few of the locations require some walking but this is mostly over level ground.
Ideally you will have a digital SLR or compact system/mirrorless camera with a wide angle and a standard to medium telephoto zoom (or prime) lenses, plus a tripod. Filters including a polariser would be useful and solid neutral density (ND) filters are essential if you wish to capture long exposures. If you have a FujiFilm X series compact system camera I can show you the many less obvious features that make this a great landscape photography tool.
All travel (to and from the photo locations) is included.
What isn’t included;
Travel to and from Northumberland, personal travel insurance, protective clothing, lunch, evening meals and drinks, camera equipment inc. tripods.
