Description

We will meet in the car park for the Golitha Falls National Nature Reserve and walk through the ancient oaks of Draynes Wood to the gorge where the River Fowey flows in a series of spectacular cascades and waterfalls that drop 90 metres in altitude. After 90 minutes or so we will drive the short distance to Colliford Lake Nature Reserve to shoot the ‘flooded forest’ and hopefully a spectacular sunset too.

This workshop is limited to a maximum of 5 participants (a minimum of 3 at the £69.00 rate), if you would prefer it can also be run on an individual 1 to 1 basis for £99.00. A reasonable level of fitness is required as there is some scrambling over often slippery rocks at Golitha Falls and a 30 minute walk around Colliford Lake.

In addition to visiting these stunning locations we will cover the following topics to improve your images and the enjoyment of your photography – composition, how to read light, the relationship between shutter speed, aperture and ISO, hyper focal distance, depth of field, shooting RAW, the histogram and anything else you may wish to learn or cover.

Ideally you will have a digital SLR or compact system/mirrorless camera with a wide angle and a standard to medium telephoto zoom (or prime) lenses, plus a tripod. Filters including a polariser would be useful and solid neutral density (ND) filters are essential if you wish to capture long exposures. If you have a FujiFilm X series compact system camera I can show you the many less obvious features that make this a great landscape photography tool.

All tuition and advice during the evening is included.

What isn’t included;
Travel to and from Cornwall and between the 2 locations, personal travel insurance, protective clothing, food and drink (Jamaica Inn is just a short drive from Colliford Lake), camera equipment inc. tripods.
