Dorset & Wiltshire Rural Landscapes Photography Workshop

Often imitated, this is the original one day landscape photography workshop along the Dorset and Wiltshire border – £179.00.

Thursday 25th May FULLY BOOKED & Wednesday 13th September 2017 – FULLY BOOKED.

To book please enter your choice of date plus the number of participants and click the add to basket button.

A £35.00 deposit per person will secure your place with the balance to be paid 14 days before your chosen date.

We will visit locations in the area around Wimborne Minster, Blandford Forum, Cranborne Chase and Shaftesbury including the Kingston Lacy Beech Tree Avenue, the ruins of Knowlton Church, Horton Tower folly, Win Green Hill, Gold ‘Hovis’ Hill, Dorset’s oldest bridge on the River Stour and Sturminster Newton Water Mill. The beauty of this workshop is that most of the locations are only a few minutes drive from each other and also just a short easy walk from the car parks.

Final locations will be selected according to the prevailing weather conditions on the day.

This workshop course will last approximately 8 hours and can be run on an individual 1 to 1 basis or as a small group of up to 3 participants if you have friends or relatives who would like to join you.

In addition to visiting stunning locations we will cover the following topics to improve your images and the enjoyment of your photography – composition, how to read light, the relationship between shutter speed, aperture and ISO, hyper focal distance, depth of field, shooting RAW, the histogram and many more.

A reasonable level of fitness is required as a couple of the paths are quite steep, but for the less agile we can stick to the locations that are a short easy walk from the car parks.

Ideally you will have a digital SLR or compact system/mirrorless camera with a wide angle and a standard to medium telephoto zoom (or prime) lenses, plus a tripod. Filters including a polariser would be useful and solid neutral density (ND) filters are essential if you wish to capture long exposures. If you have a FujiFilm X series compact system camera I can show you the many less obvious features that make this a great landscape photography tool.

All travel (to and from the photo locations) is included.

What isn’t included;
Travel to and from Dorset, personal travel insurance, protective clothing, meals, camera equipment inc. tripods.
