Welsh Highland Railway 2-6-2 + 2-6-2 Beyer Peacock Garratt steam locomotive No. 138 is seen in the Aberglaslyn Pass near Beddgelert with a Caernarfon to Porthmadog train. An 'impossible' image made possible by making a 30 second exposure for the flowing river, waiting 45 minutes for the train to come for a 1/500 second exposure and then blending the two together later in Adobe Photoshop. I had this image planned for ages and fortunately it all came together with sun on the train as it passed by. The trees on the far riverbank have now grown to such an extent that most of the railway line is now hidden.

Cloud descends over Llyn Idwal in the Snowdonia National Park, North Wales. Llyn Idwal sits above the glacial valley of the Nant Ffrancon (Valley of the Beavers) Pass and is surrounded by Y Garn (947 metres), Glyder Fawr (1001 metres), Glyder Fach (994 metres) and Tryfan (917 metres). Unbelievably on such a foul day there were a couple of people swimming just beyond the stone wall!

The 1636 vintage Inigo Jones Y Bont Fawr (Llanwrst Bridge) over the River Conwy leads to the Tu Hwnt i’r Bont (Beyond the Bridge) Tearoom. What looks like a tranquil location is actually on a tight corner on the main A470 road in Llanwrst with livestock and timber lorries passing just inches from where my tripod was set up. Now owned by the National Trust, the tearoom building was once used as a Courthouse.
